                        can't seem to find any info on type and number of aircraft onboard in her 2005 configuration. Also, which squadrons were station onboard. Official Nimitz web site was no help. not sure where to look now, so let's ask the people who always seem to be a wealth of onformation. thanks in advance for any help.

                        I believe it was CAW-11

                        VFA-41 FA-18F

                        VFA-14 FA-18E

                        VFA-97 FA-18C

                        VFA-86 FA-18C

                        VAQ-135 EA-6B

                        VAW-117 E-2C

                        VRC-30 C-2

                        HSL-6 SH-60

                        These are the current CAW-11 squadrons

                        Please review www.navy.mil 5/9/2005 Nimitz embarded with Carrier Air Wing 11.  Does not named Squadron's.  Review www.globalsecurity.org 1/13/2003 Nimitz had CAW-11 with VFA-41, VFA-14, VFA-94, VFA-94, VFA-97, Electronic Attach Squadron 135, Carrier Airbourne Warning Squadron 117, Sea Control Squadron 29, Helicopter Antosubmarine Squadron 6 and Fleet Logistics Support Squadron 30 Det 3.

                        If you're talking about the 2005 timeframe, VMFA-232 flying FA-18C's was aboard replacing VFA-97 in CVW-11.

                        You also might want to check out the PBS series "Carrier". It was filmed on the Nimitz around that time frame.
