While I have not used these specific sets, my experience to date is that you don't have to worry about the GMM pieces fitting exactly the where they're supposed to. Which at least in 1/700 is a big plus.

Tom's products are etched with a softer brass and are not as forgiving of an errant thumb.  Gold Medal  Models is a bit more robust and more forgiving for a NOOBs use.

Hi

   Everyone

I just ordered the Tamiya 1/700 Suzuya for the Guadalcanal Group Build but am at an empass as to which of these two sets to get. Tom's looks very nice but so does GMM's. And the prices are close to the same.

Has anyone used either of these sets?

Thanks

Scott
