Farragut class?

I want to do the USS Aylwin (DD-355) as she was in 1941 at Pearl Harbor.

Typically, Farraguts received additional 20mm mounts and in some instances additional 40mm. Trouble is, along with the Bensons, Gleaves, Sims and Porters, these DDs carried the brunt of the work until the Fletchers and Sumners came on line in sufficient numbers to relieve the constant operations. As a result, many weren't upgraded as heavily.

Let me know what ship you want to model in the 1941-42 timer period, and I'll give you specifics as to what you need to do to with regards to the ISW kit.

Most WW2 upgrades were AA defense. My ref says the Farragut's received limited war upgrades. But I'm sure Jeff can nail down exact changes. Basicly any changes would be minor and very easy to do. The Hull, superstructure, etc should all remain the same. So not to hard to do.

Wonder why they would make it as a 1944 boat, and what would it take to bring it back to 1941 configuration? If you find out anything else, let me know.

Gip, I found one at Trident Hobbies. It's from Iron Shipwright, in resin, 1/350 of USS Hull (DD-350). Only it's a 1944 refit. Goes for $88. Will keep looking.
