Thoughts on models.
Posted by tankerbuilder on Sunday, October 4, 2009 5:00 PM
Well, everyone, here is a dilemna. Hypothetically, I own a plastic model company. How do I wow people with my newest product? Should I spend an exorbitant sum and accurize what molds I have and hope that will work? Or do I jump in with both feet, put the company,s future on the line and go for broke, or what? I think I will come out with a whole new line of models that gets everyone talking. My competitors did more than once,oh, wait a minute that was in the 50s, so not wise now. Well what do I do? The bookeeper says we have to do something. I know, lets get our molds accurized while the furor about the conjectural stuff is heating the air,and finalize the deal on the molds from xyz now that they are no longer in business. Gee, I hope this works!I can,t picture this not working, what does that bean counter want now?    tankerbuilder

drop back 10 yards and punt. seriously, 1.choose an interesting subject that hasent been done to death 2.do your research 3.get your NEW molds right(accurate).4. dont cut corners, quality cost's. i for one dont mind paying for quality. gamble big,win big. tell the bean counters to go an $%*& themselves. cut their staff, take that money an reinvest it in new molds for the next exciting subject of your new line of high quality models.
