S-100 WIP
Posted by BGuy on Saturday, October 10, 2009 6:17 PM

Just thought I'd post up a few high-res pictures of my Revell 1/72 S-100 in progress.  My apologies since they're all quite large and I was too lazy to run them through photoshop to resize them.

Sorry, this one's a bit blurry:

None of the components on the deck are attached yet, this is just a dry-fit:

The foredeck:

A full layout of most of the materials.  Everything else is taped to cardboard and being painted:

I've drilled out the smaller--bilge?--holes, but have decided not to do so for the larger ones since that seems a bit hard to get just right and they won't be something the eye is drawn to in the final product anyway.

Is it just me, or is painting something white--even from a grey primer--REALLY a pain in the behind?  Next time I'm using white primer from a rattle can and only painting the last layer or so.

Questions, comments and/or criticisms more than welcome.

Very nice looking!! I have one of these partially built that has became a shelf queen for the time being. The larger holes ( these are actually exhaust ports) are a bit of a challenge to drill out but they are welll worth the effort!!

I primed mine with black and then painted it with schnellboot weis. It was actually a bit easier and left some nice shading with how the white paint covered. I can't wait to see this one done as I really like the looks of the german s-boats!!
