Monogram Swift Boat
Posted by jpk on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 8:59 AM
I have the old Monogram Swift Boat and would like to flesh out the interior, it's kind of empty inside the superstructure. Are there any diagrams or photos that show the layout below decks?

You could try these two links:

http://pcf45.com/boat_tour/boattour.html

http://www.swiftboats.net/

In the second site, click on the "Background" tab and click down near the bottom of the page.

I built the Swift a while ago and played with the idea of detailing the interior.  I decided that 1) my scratchbuilding skills were not up to it and 2) you can't see a whole lot anyway.

God luck and post some pics if you do it.

HI- I do beliave you can do a decent job. just don.t get carried away. I knew of a swift used as a work transport boat and it was spartan. I,ve never seen the inside of a military one    tankerbuilder

Yes,

The Swift was a converted oil rig crew boat.

Actually, it was not converted from that hull, but rather derived from it, ... based on it.
