Speaking as a retired U.S. Navy submariner, there are many misconceptions about submarine hull colors, not least is that they have that grayish bow area for the sonar dome.  They are actually black above the waterline, red below, and the Soviets/Russians sometimes have a white band as well.

Your Kursk is excellent, though I would not have used a gloss paint.

Different pics show it differently.

There are a few pics floating around that have the Oscar II class sub in a subpen that shows the lower hull fully in red.  But there are some that show it as black.

I have updated the finished kit with a green missile bay and I dull coated the finish...I bit to shiny IMO

Finish this kit a week ago...

It's the Revel kit 1:350 Kusk.  Opened the missile hatch and added some wiring and mechanical detail along the sides.
