She probably carried Type 290 or 291 Air Warning early on in her career, and more than likely carried a Type 271 or 272 Air Search set.

By 1943, the typical rigs on RN DDs were Type 272 Air Search and FH4 aerial on the foremast, and Type 291 on a short pole mainmast.

By 1944, that was usually changed to a Type 276 or 293 Air/Surface target indicating set.

All ships carried Type 285 gunnery radar, with the aerials being fitted to the R/F director, and a MF/DF set with the aerials on the bridge front. All vessels with a Hazemeyer twin Bofors carried a Type 282 close range gunnery set as well.

Hope that helps.

None. It wasn't built then!

Can anyone out there tell me what type of radar system the Tribal class destroyer Arunta was using 1942-3?
Cheers
