" In case there is any dispute about correct color, one should write to Trumpeter to tell them how wrong. "

Why should we write Trumpeter? You are the one with the messed up model,  you write them.  I'm not going to do your dirty work. You don't believe us? Then carry on.

And as to weathering below the waterline, we gave you a ton of examples last year when the same subject came up.  You obviously won't heed advice so why do you ask for comments? Do you just want to hear praise? Well, you came to the wrong place for that.

Thanks for all comments and suggestions. Usually we don't see boats on deck but on water. So it may be difficult to see how under-waterline weathering look like or to simulate it. As for uniform colors, I believe "Toom" followed the colored instruction sheets of Trumpeter. In case there is any dispute about correct color, one should write to Trumpeter to tell them how wrong. jetmodeler, this is my second LCM-3 1:35. The first one was Italeri's and I equipped it with soldiers and tank as you would like me to (see pictures below). For this one, I had another M4 US Marine tank built a little earlier but on the day I took pictures I couldn't locate where I kept it.

I read Editor's Note in FSM March 2010, he asks reader to send "a couple of pics" to show how finished kits are stored and displayed. A couple pics won't cover all my kits, 30 maybe the very least.

Model Maniac doesn't build all of the models he posts. They are built by other guys and he posts them up for them. Hence the reason he might not respond to criticism.

The boat looks pretty good, although a little below the waterline weathering would be in oder considering how weathered the rest of the boat is. But what really bugs me is khaki uniforms the sailors are wearing. Navy enlisted men (who crew these craft) wear dark blue denim pants and light blue chambray shirts, even chiefs in those days. The only US Navy personnel to wear brown shoes are aviators. Everyone else wears black shoes. This is so wrong as to be distracting from the rest of the model. But then, Maniac won't listen to advice so I'll stop with any other comments.

Ditto.

Ok, maybe these are supposed to be a Rhine-crossing crew, those people were given Army equipment.  But, that ought to be a mix of khaki drab, mustard, and olive colors.  If this supposed to be USN crew in a 'regular' sort of landing, then the boat crew could be in sage green HBT (same as issued to the MC without EGA) or in dungarees.  They'd likely have gray helmets, though.

What bothers me most is one sailor, in a dixie sup, sort of just along for the ride, while there is crew manning a MG aft of him.  Standing in the Starboard bow as the bow lookout, maybe.  Not along a rail like to be pitched over the side.  Also, those slings on the MGs are not for show.

What I'd really like to see someday is the "empty spot" from where the chocks that a Mike boat sits in while onboard its transport don't get painted inbetween operations.  Or, the paint lines from where patches were touched up.
