An open letter to Kelly Shaw

The question is that why do the FSM staff pinned these old posts?

Oh, well. There are too many "features" I don't understand on the "new and improved" forum anyway.

It stays for a day, then resorts back to past two months. I'm tired of trying to save the setting, besides more than two months old is history for the most part.

Pinned used to mean "going steady" back in the day. Political Correctness is ridiculous, and I have two things to say about it:

Though I have tried and tried to have "Show All" as my default sort, it never sticks!

It has stayed "Show All" for me since I set it when the forum changed.  Until last Friday when it crashed anyway.  I had to reset it Saturday.

Pinned must be the new PC term for Sticky.  The PC Police are literally everywhere!

I see them also.  Always have.  I think it has to do with how your Sort is set up.  Instead of "Last 6 months", I have "Show All".  When I have selected "Show All", all three of these posts are shown at the top of Page 1, and they are marked as "Sticky".

Correction:  They used to be marked "Sticky".  Now they are marked "Pinned", which I presume means about the same thing.

As Tucchase pointed out, they are pinned, same as sticky. I should have been more pricise.

Are you looking at a cached page, perhaps? Try clearing your internet cache and having another look.

No. It is not the cached copy. Otherwise, I will not be seeing and replying to your post. Other than the 3 sticky post from Kelly, everything else seem to be normal.

I clean my internet cache regularly as a matter of security.

So, no one else is seeing the Kelly Shaw sticky notes. Weir.

What happen when you click on the links that I posted. Do they show as sticky? Do you see them? If you do, what forum are they in using the top banner?

I don't know what happened. Am I the only one who sees ghost?

What recent posts? I don't believe Kelly even works at FSM anymore. He is no longer listed on the "Meet the Staff" page, and searching his posts shows the last one was on Sept 2, 2009.

The last one disappeared this morning. Some mystery in life is never resolved. But I am not complaining.
