Thanks for your info.I finally got a reply from a FTG2 that was on the Ingersoll with me and he tells me that yes, the dish was solid and they were doing away with the perferated dish back in the 50's.He sent me quite a disertation about the fire control radar and if I can figure out how to send it to you I will.It is interesting.

Thanks again for your help

According to drawings in Ross' AOTS The Sullivans, it is perforated.    But since it is your model you may choose to replicate it as you wish.

From all the pics I have of our ship, the dish appears to be solid not the perferated one

Looking for the MK25 Radar dish that sits on the Mk37 fire control housing for Mt 51 on Fletcher class tin cans.Am hoping not to have to buy a ton of PE just to get the dish unit for 1/350.Any suggestions????

Thanks

That seems to be an item which is missing in the product line of most,  if not all, of the PE manufacturer's.   I've asked and have gotten no positive response.

That said,  I believe the upgraded MK37 from Veterans Models includes a better MK25 dish than a solid hunk-o-plastic.    I posted info on Veterans in one of my earlier responses to you.  Check the archives.

If thats not a possible course of action,  I think my approach would be to punch a disc  from a sheet of perforated PE stock (look for Special Shapes from KS Brass http://www.specialshapes.com/default.asp) and dish it
