Colorful Rodney

I've got the 700 Tamiya HMS Rodney. Unlike most BBs, Rodney actually did something significant and didn't get sunk - hard to believe there's a kit. Anyway, I want to paint my Rodney as she appeared in May 1941 - never mind the late war dazzle to confuse German shore gunners. According to Tamiya that means a lot of grey. I don't doubt they're right. But there isn't a clue in the directions concerning detail, beyond flat black funnel tops and a white boat. Can anyone direct me to some photos of other kits of the vintage that might give me some clue as how to handle the superstructure and deck? Wouldn't hurt to have some tips on weathering either - sounds like Rodney made it back to port with their crew rowing the ship - bet it was not at all tidy after chasing half way across the Atlantic after Vader's flagship.

A model boat is much cheaper than a real one and won't sink with you in it.

I just looked on Google.com and there seems to be plenty of photos and other information about HMS RODNEY.

Good luck and good hunting

I don,t know about you , BUT , I wish that they would bring the HMS RODNEY out in 1/350 . Her and her sister (whose name escapes me) were unusuall subjects in that the upper structure was way more aft and you had a stepped strange arrangement for the forward guns . Most unusual looking . I am tired of the "PRINCE of WALES and HOOD et.al. and would like to see these two in a scale I can work on . I would like a RODNEY ,but , in a scale I can see !  I have three 1/700 kits and it,s taken over two years just to get one past the 01 deck. !           tankerbuilder
