I just had a chance to see USS Constitution in Boston this past Sept. '02. The main differance are the colors. According to the Museum next door, the ship is currently painted the correct colors for the war of 1812. When the ship was first launched it was WHITE in the inside of the Bukwarks, it was painted dark green somewhere between 180 -1805, closest they could come to the date. The Guns on the ship are the correct ones , remember we did not have a Cannon Foundry that could make the number of guns the ship needed, (Paul Revere had not started making Guns until 1802) so when the small navy captured a ship they took the guns off that one if possible and if they were the right size.
Some of the guns on board now have the crest of KG3 (King George III), which is correct because they were taken from English Ships. The Revell model is incorrect on two major points. The cannon doors are not single piece units, but doubles, (hinged on top/bottom). The decorations on the stern are too many, you need to remove several. I will post as short srticle on the changed. I working on a BIG Cutty Sark article with matching pictures on Naplak's site

Dur to security concerns, I was not allowed to see the birthing deck, but the upper and lower decks are open, I burned up 4 rolls of film, 96shots. I found the ship is smaller than what the Revell model scale is based with the 1/96th scale men.
