Does anyone make a BB kit in 1/250? I see the Yamato etc from Arii and Doyusha but no US Navy.
Thanks, Rusty
The closest you will get is the old Glencoe kit of the Oregon which had a stated scale of 1/225. You will find plenty of them on eBay. They have a number of accuracy issues that can be addressed with care and there are brass gun barrels available as well as PE sets for it. WS
Glue Mark Does anyone make a BB kit in 1/250? I see the Yamato etc from Arii and Doyusha but no US Navy. Thanks, Rusty
It is the 1:200 scale USS Missouri. Is it close enough?

1:250 is an odd scale and very difficult to find.
If you are looking for larger scale Battleships, check out the Paper Models available on many websites. Such as Digital Navy. They have a 1:250 scale USS Arizona. A couple of nice thing about the paper models is you can use the original pieces as forms for making plastic or metal pieces, and you can scale them up or down to any size you want. Online is a thread where someone took the 1:250 Arizona and made a 1:100 scale model of it. It is an AWESOME build! There are many other ships available, but you have to really look around the 'net. For converting scales, I recommend ScaleCalc. It is freeware downloadable to your Desktop and it can make any scale conversion you care to make. It will not only give you the exact dimensions of your converted scale, but it will simultaneously convert from Standard to Metric and vice-versa. It will also tell you what magnification to set your copier for to convert any plans.
Good Luck!
Thanks guys! I've heard there are some awesome paper kits now, so maybe one day. The scale caculator sounds handy too. The Missouri was interresting, but I'm looking for static display only, but thanks! The Glencoe Oregon I will probably do one day as well!
