I got the stairs in and one of the railings partially attached. The photoetch parts are a little tricky to attach. I will take it slow. A little at a time!

I added the cage around the radar.

I got a little more done. I added the backstays and photoetched ratlines to the mizzen.

Here is another view with the main mast ratlines

Next, I have to get the stairways put back in.

Hi , Still haven,t gotten that photo thing worked out yet. You are doing alright. What I did on the deck was took a picture of some light oak contact paper where the grain was very close ,tight , and very pale to see. Then my neighbor ran off a decal for me.I then made paper patterns ,transfered them to the decals and gotter done. The ship is neat and ALL you heve done is exactly what I have had to do to them.     TANKERbuilder

Well, it's been a while since I worked on this. I got it back out and got a little done.

I had to drill some holes in the hull for the bowsprit stays. I made a cable for the derrick out of stretched sprue. Since I couldn't figure a way to make a decent hook, I just put a ball on the end. It looks pretty good to me.

I also started populating the poop deck. It is hard to see in the picture, but I photoetched some gratings to go around the wheel.

Thanks for looking,

Pete

Hi Tankbuilder,

I would like to see a picture of your deck. I haven't done much lately, just painted a few pieces. I hope to get back to it soon. I like these little kits. I have a few of them in the stash. They are pretty easy to build, don't take up a lot of space and look good when finished.

Hi,POWDERMONKEY!! This is a nice little kit though isn,t it? I have done three for friends and did just exactly the same as you are doing.I would say you probably will do all the things I did as a matter of course.Good luck and enjoy     tankerbuilder       P.S. I did add paper veneer wood decks!

I have started building this kit by Minicraft.  First, I removed the staircases, fore and aft. I will be replacing them with something a little better.

I have added some details to the lower hull

I have extended the keel beyond the stem post and added the bulges ahead of the propeller. I have also made a new rudder. The kit one did not look right to me.
