Heller kits reboxed by Imai
Posted by bondoman on Thursday, July 8, 2010 10:57 AM

As mentioned before, my Heller Victory is a rebox by Imai, and has the advantage of a second set of instructions containing redrawn and much more legible illustrations. Also a good looking set of spools of cordage, in five sizes of black, plus a short length of cable. For this year I will need hemp colored cordage and cable, but these may be the right thing for the standing rigging.

Alas, the blocks are still part of the Heller sprues.

What prompted this post is that there is an Imai rebox of the Pruessen at my LHS. While I certainly will not purchase it, having my plate full for the moment, it raises the question- did Imai rerelease more kits by heller? If so, based on my Victory, they would be worth pursuing.

The latest Lucky Model sale had a slew of "Heller" sail kits for sale. Wonder if they were reducing the "old" heller inventory before releasing the Imai reboxings.
