Good job of assembling the kit out of box, but Toom could have spent a little more time (actually, a lot more time) painting it correctly. He left all but the helo deck the same shade of gray as the hull and superstructure, the seam where the lower hull meets the upper hull below the black boot topping stripe is  rough, to say the least, the small details such as the CIWS guns and replenishment hoses are supposed to be black, the bridge windows are even painted over, and it goes on and on. Here is a shot of  USS Barry, another Arleigh -Burke class DDG so you can see what I am talking about:

Thanks for your comments and picture, subfixer!  You didn't mention about rigging lines color. Someone suggested that they should be all black, is that right?

The signal halyards (the lines that the flags attach to) are just made out of light nylon and are a very light gray or white. Steel rigging wire is usually painted a light gray likre the hull color. Even the hull numbers are a subdued gray now.

You are very welcome, MM. I hope that you can get Toom to correct these little items, especially the bridge (pilot house) windows.

Yes, and the anchor chains to not get used that often, and they are available on deck, so they get painted.  Frequently.

There is non skid up there, too.  Which can be harder to pick out on the dark gray decks, but is there and provides some color contrast, too.

Toom seems to be getting better at much of this; he just needs a few more photos off the net to work from.  Then, details like the bridge windows, the difference between hull and deck colors (or that superstructures are usually a subtly lighter gray than the hulls) would not be missed.

Oh, and the jackstaff is folded forward, which is correct for underway, as is the US Colors at the mast.  However the after flagstaff and its Colors are stowed when underway.
