Question: Must I upload photos to another URL to then link to post them here, or is there a way I haven't discovered to upload them from my local disk directly?

Thank you Matt. I'm traveling right now, so don't have access to my photos on this borrowed computer. When I get home I'll ne posting quite a number since I keep build logs of my projects.

There isn't a log or diary forum per se. Two ways to go about it. One is to join a group build. i really like those, but of course you need to find one with a category you like, or start your own, which to my mind takes skill and experience.

And I haven't seen a Ships GB here in quite a while.

A fine way to go is to start a new thread, give it a title that's appropriate such as "My 1/350 USS Coral Sea" or some such, and post your log. You'll get a lot of interest, no question.

I don't think I;ll find a group build attractive or start one of my own, for much the same reason. I'm interested only in modeling non-military subjects in wood, and I get the sense (am I mistaken?) that the popular medium here is plastic, or maybe resin, and of military or naval subjects.  

I have done plastic in the past and have enjoyed it, and I've seen plastic projects that I find quite artistic, especially in the areas of finishing and weathering.  But like the elder of you (I'm 81) who have been at this for some time, I've gravitated over the years to a favorite medium and subject which I've already defined in my opening post in this thread.

So I think that I'll take Bill's suggestion and just start a new thread devoted exclusivety to one project at a time.  I very much enjoy sharing my work in this manner. I hope you'll enjoy it as well!

Well said, Mr. Rich. I'm mostly a non-military modeler too, except for ships. Airplanes, trains, bridges and buildings are my cup of tea.

If you start a thread about a wood model, and a sailing ship, you'll be the life of the party, more fun than a case of Genessee at a KOC convention.

Won't likely be sailers Bill. My subjects are motorized, maybe static, maybe R/C.

Could be lightships, trawlers, tugboats, pilot or customs launches, towboats, paddlers, freighters, and such.

Problem is I'm in Missouri (2000 miles from my photos at home) and I seem to be stuck here for another bit. I hope I can get home in another week or so, then I'll keep my promise. I'll be posting my current project, Helen Euphane, a 1/38 scale fisherman I described in my first post here.

Just resurrecting this old thread to let you know my build log is up, with lots of photos. Come visit, I love comments, critical or otherwise. Have no concern, I can take it in the spirit that was intended.

       Bondoman, you being a native of Nantucket, brings back fond memories of my childhood, when I spent a few summers sailing in a rented sailboat. A charming and lovely island more than 60 years ago, but now that the rich and famous have bought the best real estate, us little people feel of of place.
