Hi Everyone!
I finally ordered it, and just got my ARII 1/250 Musashi today. I also just ordered the Gold Medal PE detail kit as well. It looks like a great kit, but I was wondering what you folks have done with the sides of the island superstructure base, where there is absoutley no detail of doors, windows, piping, etc. (very similar to how the Nichimo 200 scale kit was done). I don't think the Gold Medal PE kit helps with that.
I bought the kit from FreeTime in Atlanta, and they were really great. I started out by ordering the Doyusha kit on Saturday, but read a bad review on it just a few hours later, so I called Monday morning and they allowed me to cancel the order and buy the ARII kit instead. Whew! Then the kit arrived today, and probably due to it being trucked for two days thru the 100 degree heat here in the Carolinas, the forward decking piece was warped (and still warm), although still usable. I called FreeTime again and they said they had no other kits to exchange it with, could not obtain a replacement part, but that I was free to return it for a full refund. I mentioned that I didn't want to wind up without a kit when the fellow offered to discount the kit by 15% due to the damage if I kept the kit. I agreed and they credited my card.
Just wanted to share a positive customer service experience with everyone, and give what the kids today call a well deserved "shout out" to FreeTime!!
