Here is a manufactuerer of resin hydrplane kits in 1/48 from the 1950's, 60's and early 70's.

These kits are absolutely beautiful, and their decals are calculated to drag you on a trip down mempry lane if you knew the thunderboats at all. The mfr thrives on the fact that several boats were built with similar hulls, or that a particular boat may have had four or five names and paint schemes during her lifetime, and the decals cover a wide range of possibilitoes.
The website shows some samples, and some decal sheet artwork, and if it doesn't excite you... well, we must be talking about different hydroplanes.
The only downside is that, as you come to expect, just like any resin kit, these are not cheap.
Good luck,
Rick
