19th c. 1:96 waterlined lower hull re-scaled as a 1:56 boat?

Hi, all. I am thinking of converting a Revell Bounty or 'Beagle' into a waterlined transport for gaming purposes - the scale should be close enough to the gamers' "15mm" (variably between around 1:100 and 1:120).

However, I am wondering if what is left of the hull might then be waterlined again, and used as the basis of a ship's boat in a different scale, say 1:56 or so? Would the 1:96 (?) hull planking be too small for a 1:56 boat's planking? Would the shape (including no square transom) be completely wrong? That being said , I suppose that the hull could be cut off at the stern, too, and a scratch-built transom added.
