Tom's Modelworks makes a resin insert for the Enterprise hangar deck.

I'm not sure; I think it's two sections - a forward and after piece. I don't think it runs the full length of the ship. www.tomsmodelworks.com

Tom's Modelworks makes a brass hangar deck for the Enterprise. It is a three piece floor with large brass doors. It looks great but is slightly over-sized and takes a while to get it to fit properly. Also getting the three parts to join smoothly is a bit tricky. Sadly there is still no one who offers walls for the hanger deck. I have ordered a book from Squadron called "Detail & Scale Vol.# 39 The USS Enterprise CVAN-65 to CVN-65". According to other model builders the pictures provided are quite good. For more info on the Tamiya Enterprise check out www.modelwarships.com. Here they also show how to build a hangar deck from scratch. Good luck!

I am working on the same project. A ship this size has to have a hanger deck. I have the floor down and I believe the walls could easily be scratchbuilt out of sheet styrene, just add some small detail for the sides. I am planning to add lights to the ceiling. It is certainly an undertaking but I know the results will be well worth it. You may try 'AIRWING ENTERPRISE' by Michael O'Leary (Osprey Publications). It has a bunch of nice color photos of the airwing circa the early '90's. I think the best way to go is to build the hanger as a kit by itself, then add the completed kit to the ship just before the flight deck is installed.

If you take the time to do the hangar deck, make sure you pay attention to the four doors from the elevators. You will have to scratchbuild a second large oval opening for each door and the space between the two ovals.

Hello Dersickora. I am building this kit also but I have the purley accidental luck to have had the CVN-65 Enterprise which was broknen in a family move.  The up side is I am 20 years loder, a much better modeler. and I plan to use the flight deck and hangar doors from the broken kit for my hangar deck details. I figure if anyone else likes this idea then you could send for these replacement parts from Tamiya. Just a thought. Take care.
