George Washington - which kit?
Posted by Jantrix on Saturday, October 9, 2010 4:27 PM

Can you guys recommend a good kit (scale is not an issue) for a Nimitz class aircraft carrier? And recommend some good decals (supplier) to turn it into the GW? I'm buying this for a pal who served aboard in the mid 90's. Thanks in advance.

You may also need the basic set to complete the job

Thanks very much. After talking with my friend he wants to do the 1/700 scale due to the financial cost of the 1/350. I've heard the Trumpeter 1/700 Nititz is good and we'll definitely get the decals from Starfighter.

Where can I get him the proper air wing planes?

In 1/700 Trumpeter will probably be the route for a 90's air wing also. They make Hornets, Vikings, etc. A search at www.squadron.com will give you an idea of what's out there.
