This group build that you propose, does that include model ships of the age of sail ? I notice that all the group build participants are building modern vessels. My model is of the British East Indianman FALMOUTH, built in 1752. I hope to have the model completed by next year. My hobby room can look cluttered at times.

Montani semper liberi !      Happy modeling to all and every one of you.

robtmelvin and Jack Jack both of you welcome to the build.  You will find the official page for the GB in the Group Build Section of the Forum.  The buid is called "Official Shiver Me Timbers Ship Group Build"  And My name is Jeff Goodness.

So to answer both of your questions here we go.

robtmelvin:  The LCVP sounds like its almost complete.  Would be wicked cool to see some pictures if you have any.  Your U.S.S. Laffy would be a worthy addition to the Group Build and i will add you to the roster with this entry.  As far as rules goes their are no rules.  Anything goes, add on's, PE parts and what ifs would be cool, any era goes.  Yes the build started Nov 1st but like i said welcome aboard.  Its open enrolment durring the entire build so people can come and go as they please!!!!  So Welcome Sign !!!!  So as fare as preferences go, put up pics as you build or you can do them all the end, or just a finished product at the end of the build would be cool.  So hope this answered your questions.

Jack Jack:  again welcome aboard.  Your U.S.S. San Francisco would be a welcome addition.  So how you participate is by putting some pics up as you build and commenting on other peoples things as you see fit.  some times people will have questions about refferences and stuff or will need help finding information about things and your welcomed to help.  When you are 100% complete your build a Group Build Badge will be awarded.  This badge then can be added to your profile, you might see other members of the forum with different badges.  I am currently working on creating the badge and will have a couple for people to chose from shortly.  Hope these answered your quesions.

Like i said Welcome Aboard the official build page is on the Group Build page.

here is the link to page one of the build.

I have a 1/350 USS San Francisco  (WW II)  cruiser I may be starting soon. Does this qualify and how exactly do I participate? What exactly is "participation" as I've never been involved with a group build before.

Thanks, Jack

Yeah, I might be interested.  I'm finishing up the Italieri 1/35 LCVP and I hope to be done with it within the next week to 10 days.  Once I  get done with that one I'm going to be starting Dragon's 1/350 U.S.S. Laffey.  What are the rules as far as after market add ons like P.E.?  I'm planning on a full hull build.  It says above the GB started on Nov. 1.  What is the deadline to sign on?  If I'm not too late I'll let you know for sure in a couple of days.

This will be my first GB.  What are your preferences about progress posts and the like?

Bob

Just launched:  Revell 1/249 U.S.S. Buckley w/ after market PE and guns.

Building: Italieri 1/35 P.T. 596 w/ Lion Roar PE.

I'm building the USS Jake Laboon an Arleigh Burke class DDG and I've already pre=ordered the Trumpeter 1/200 scale Arizona Yesand I can't wait ti build that.  I'm going to build it for R/C.  That is a verbose way of saying count me in!  I also have a wooden 1/200 Titanic rising on my bench but that is looking to be a very long project.  The Arizona and Laboon will be good for the GB.Captain

Deus in minutiae est. Fr. Pavlvs

On the Bench: 1:200 Titanic; 1:16 CSA Parrott rifle and Limber

On Deck: 1/200 Arizona.

Recently Completed: 1/72 Gato (as USS Silversides)

Hey just wanted to see if anyone else was interested in joining the group build for ships????  Rules are extremely laxed and would love to have you.  Will except models that are not over 50% completed.  Its a long build so keep it in the back of your mind too.
