warped waterline

Well, if no one comes up with anything better besides returning the model for another one what might work is taping the hull flat onto a table top and leaving it in the sunlight for a couple of hours.

I have had some success before with this; the sun will heat the plastic enough to cause it to conform to the 'taped down' shape.

I have this problem once in awhile, so here's my method.

I leave off the flight deck, allowing my access to the interior of the hull. Get your base together first, figure out your location, etc.

Starting at the bow, put a heavy bead of CA along the inside of the hull, and apply some kicker to set it. Then, with pressure on the hull, simply hard-glue it to the base, using pressure to remove the warp. Eventually, the tension on the hull will decrease as the temperature variations cause the plastic to adjust to the new tension you've put on it.

Then add your flight deck and build as usual.

I had the same problem with my 720 scale Enterprise. I am building her in the wateline version, so I leaving the bottom part of the hull off. Here is how I fixed the warp. One I had the ship built up, just prior to painting, I glued the flightdeck on, putting a bead of glue all the way around the flightdeck. I then put the peices together, turned it over, placed it on a flat surface then, sat 2 dictionarys on it and let it set for a couple of hours. That effectively cured the warp problem.
She now sits nice and flush.

I' ve got many 700 scale ships and many of them had warp problems. I did it the same way. Try it.
Those are good ideas, simple and they work quite well.
