Am building a 1:48 diorama of a F-14 at launch off a Nimitz class carrier. Need details on jet blast deflector, shuttle and deck markings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Already contacted USN got no answer.

Thanks

Did you check the carrier photo archive at NAVY.MIL http://www.navy.mil/view_gallery.asp?category_id=10

When you're finished there check their archive on aircraft.    Then check the Defense Imaging Command http://www.defenseimagery.mil/index.htm

You'll probably find more doing your own footwork than relying on an already overworked PAO

Which kit are you using the Hasegawa kit?  Because at least the Hasegawa F-14A kit has the option for the "Cat crouch".

On the workbench: Dragon 1/350 scale Ticonderoga class USS BunkerHill 1/720 scale Italeri USS Harry S. Truman 1/72 scale Encore Yak-6

The 71st Tactical Fighter Squadron the only Squadron to get an Air to Air kill and an Air to Ground kill in the same week with only a F-15 http://photobucket.com/albums/v332/Mikeym_us/

I have a blueprint of deck section with Cat and blast panels in 1/32 scale.  Overhead view only.

http://www.navy.mil/view_photos_top.asp - This is the photo section of Navy News. Pretty much anything you could want of aircraft carriers, catapults, catapult shots, etc. It is searchable and some of the high resolution photos are quite good. It can take time to load, though, even with a high-speed connection.

The JBDs and Shuttles are all the same. It depends on which of the 4 Cats you are modeling for the deck markings.

No.  The JBD on the #4 waist cat of Nimitz-class carriers is narrower.

Check this site out!!!!!!! There is everything from modeling carriers and dios such as a launch. This place is pretty damn amazing! http://www.carrierbuilders.net/

Type in the Search F-14 tomcat.

look for the modeler Masa Narita. He has a breathtaking 1/32 Tamiya Tomcat. Which I think you will enjoy!

Good luck.
