Answer to an age old question.........................
What do you do with old busted up ship models. Well if you have time on your hands you make this out of an old Cutty Sark.
I got to thinking that since some of the wooden boat folks have cut-aways and an HMS Victory Bow section, this will fit right in there. Try as I might I wanted to expose some of the lower decking but this section of the ship had mainly a cargo hold and water tank. I spoke with several other modelers and we could not find any information on the tank, so I had to close up the hull. I'm ready to step the foremast and jib. She'll be rigging for port with all the lifts and halyards but no back stays or braces obv. I took a bit of liberity and closed off the cabin by moving the wall up.

Because this kit is an older one from the late '60's and the model went under 8 feet of water for 3 weeks the plastic is dried out to the point that some of the parts are breaking while I'm trying to drill out the belaying pin racks for the foremast. Part number 103 both sides of the foremastbelaying pin racks and also I need a set of decals for the name and scroll work.
I'm going to contact Revell this weeek to see if I can buy the parts and decals, but I noticed the model is not listed in the catalog this year.
Let me know what you think of this idea, all comments welcome.
