Yes.

Thank you.  I've posted this request on various other sites as well, so far with no luck.  If I don't get any responses in, like two weeks or so, I'll just have my guy scratch-build or just dress the horrible plastic blob of a Hedgehog which the kit has and go from there ...

The build by a builder (and its cost) are a Christmas gift to me from my brother; I'm just helping out with knowing where to get the parts and paints ...

Ok, I'm on the same frequency now, you meant another turret on the DEs like Buckeley.

The Fletchers had Mount 52 removed to install Weapon "A"; to further confuse things, a number of them were re-designated DDE (and some to DE after that).

Fletcher and Sumner/Gearings had the paired Mk 10/11 on the 01 platforms aft of Mount 52.

Always felt sorry for the guys who would have had to run reloads up to those mounts during the pressure of GQ.

Went and looked, all i have are a pair of 1/96 Mk 10, which I think are HR's

Sir,

I'm sure that some of the post war DDs and DEs were fited with the Weapon Able/Alfa ... I wasn't asking about or referring to that weapon.  But, I was told that many modelers might have put a second gun-turret on their 1:350 DE kit and that someone might have an un-used 1:350 Hedgehog launcher (a Mark 10, or 11) in their spare-parts box/drawer that I could get ...

Since you mention "second turret" do you mean the Weapon Able/Alfa mount?

The name stems from the change in phonetic pronunciation during the development of the weapon.  There was a Weapon Bravo in collateral development, but was never deployed.

The Weapon "A" project was more of a 'directed depth charge' than a proper "hedgehog."   At least in the sense of being a contact-exploding, spigot mortar-launched ASW.   Hedgehog offered a number of advantages in attacking a submarine, but the primary one was in that they only created sound in the water if they made contact.  That, and you did not have to go ahead full in the attack, as you would with conventional DC.  Major downside was the lack of range, you needed to be able to get to within nearly "arm's length" of a sub to prosecute the attack.

But, such are the variables in Absurdly Slow Warfare <G>

Hi Guys ...

Hey listen; to any of you who might have built a 1:350 DE but added a second turret where the Hedgehog launcher would go?  Would any of you have the Hedgehog launcher in your spares box?  I need one.
