Lindberg U.S.S.Arizona in 1/144 scale

I suppose, mfsob, except that Hallmark Cards did rescue Revell from oblivion in the last ten years before selling it.

To my mind, it probably has more to do with perception. I've modeled for what, 50 years. During that time I have never bought a Lindberg kit, the few I ever built were given to me. Must be the box art, or what the unbuilt kit looks like, but I never liked the product. Those kinds of things just stick.

This may be another example of what happens when "investors" take over a "hobby" company?

It just seems to me that Lindberg is in its death throes. The whole company seems to be crumbling down.

I have to agree with Tankerbuilder.  The Lindberg website no longer lists the Arizona, at all.  However, you may be interested in a current work in progress of an RC 1/200 Arizona by someone named, I believe, Campng.  He is posting on an RC site, but he is also posting on ShipModelForum on the thread "Unboxing Arizona", which is entirely about this model from Trumpeter.  I believe Campng is posting on the last few pages and he has probably posted a link to his other thread.  He even has videos of his trial runs.  This model, in my opinion, has been intended from the get-go to be radio controlled.  It is obviously designed for it.  I won't be a bit surprised if Trumpeter's next release of it includes all the running gear and extras to animate the main and secondary batteries.  The molding of the underside of the decks indicate it.   Good Luck, and don't forget to post pics!

Hey,saxondog. Do me a favor and PLEASE don,t hold your breath. Since ERNIE PETIT doesn,t seem to be part of it anymore I seriously doubt if we,ll ever see that kit. I am in the process of building TWO of the TRUMPETER offerings. That,s one for me and one for my client. His idea ,not mine. I will say this in fairness to TRUMPETER. Their kit might not be %100 ,but whose is?? I have been in the past bitten by a promised kit that NEVER saw the light of day. I know of two more kits from LINDBERG that were supposed be re-released. I have never seen either one of them. I refer to the CHRIS KRAFT-SPORT FISHERMAN and the CHRIS-CRAFT CONSTELLATION motoryacht. I had built two of the fisherman for clients who supplied the kits. I thought it was odd,though,that the sport fish boat appeared to have been VACUFORMED in the reverse manner.(all the really good detail was on the inside of the hull!!! )I have, like you R.C.d all my LINDBERG ships and boats of certain sizes. They performed pretty well overall. I am sorry my friend ,the TRUMPETER ,ARIZONA is all there is.Try it you,ll like it!!    tankerbuilder
