division 6: Thanks so much for this information. I've already looked at some of it and believe it will be of great help. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I've been "under the weather" for the past three weeks so I haven't felt up to starting the kit. Hopefully soon though.

Respectfully, Dobby

Congratulations on trying something diffirent, I built that model when I was younger.

The holes on the sides are limber holes.

You should find everything you need detail wise over on the AMP forum, look for Siara's build which can also be found on the SubSim forum, keep in mind his build is an extreme example being done with the Revell 1/72 but it still has tons of good info.

Addition resources can be found at U-Boat Archive, ubootwaffe. U-Boat, also google search U-99, U-Boats, U-Boots, German Submarines, etc... many of these will five you othe model builders examples on what they did or are currently working on.

1/125 U-Boat construction and painting

Hi all, I'm new to the Ships arena and am starting a Revell 1:125 U-99 OOB. All of my prior experience has been with WWII aircraft. The boat is basically gray on top with dark gray below. I'm thinking panel line shading is in order as well as some rusting, but what else??? How does one simulate rust anyway? Also, what's the best way to drill/tap "the holes" (I don't know the correct term) that run along the side of the hull just below the deck. Any help is appreciated. Feel free to refer me another post that might be a great U-Boat example.

Respectfully, Dobby
