Vietnam Era Knox Class Destroyer Escort (1/350)
Posted by WillieW on Monday, January 24, 2011 8:23 PM

I recently saw the Navy video on the USS Kirk at the end of Vietnam and was looking for a 1/350 scale plastic kit of the ship in this class (Knox Class).  The only thing close I have seen is a 1/700 AFV club and a 1/350 WEM resin kit but both of those depict the ships in this class as they would have appeared after the war.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Iron Shipwright also makes a Knox in 1:350 as the Ainsworth

Ed,

Thanks for the photo, I have seen this kit before and it looks great but it appears to represent a later version of the Kirk.  The photo below shows an open bow rail rather than the solid one on the later mod.
