1/350 scale ships???

Eventually when things get better financially I would like to build some large scale ships. I was looking for advice on which ones to start with. In due time when money and space and skill are no longer in question, I would like to do some carriers and battleships. Even the Titanic and Lusitania.

I was thinking of starting with the Fletchers from Tamiya. Any other suggestions?

Actually the Tamiya Fletchers are a very good start. Excellent kits. Highly recommended by everybody who has built one (or more) here.

I got my start in 1/350 with the Fletcher. It's a great kit to get your feet wet with. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress.

You have Tamiya Battleships and the Fletcher (destroyer), Aircraft carriers from Trumpeter and some others, all 1:350. Just pic the one.
New items are to be realeased soon i hope, there are many to start from.

Like everyone else is saying, the Fletcher is probably the
best choice for a 1/350th first kit.

After that there is also the Banner 1/350th Arizona, although
you may want to wait till the all the yelling and shouting over
what the colors of it were first. LOL!

There is also the Tamiya Missouri, and Trumpeter Carriers.

Lots of choices, and the above is just a few.

I'm just starting on the Fletcher with a p/e set from Gold Medal and a replacement set of gun turrets.

Another excellent starter is Blue Water Navy"s Gearing in 1/350. I'm building mine as the USS Forrest Royal, DD872, my dad's ship in the Korean War.

I know Tamiya has a 1/350th Enterprise.....pretty pricey though at >$150
