Hey everyone! I'm semi-new to the model building, wasn't always that into it (or very good at it), but anyways, I've been bitten by the bug and started considering options for an Iowa class ship. Being from NJ, I want to model the NJ, naturally, and in 1/350 scale. I'd like to have her as she was Pre-Korea, either during WWII or just after. I know she had the round bridge and some other detail changes, but the Tamiya kit as most know has her modernized. Would I be better off getting the Mo' and just changing the decals and (maybe) scratch build the bridge (probably wouldn't for simplicity's sake)? I know their are other detail changes as well from ship to ship, but I'm not a stickler for details unless it's something huge. I was thinking of going that route, but I can't find a decal set for 1/350 Iowa class ships anywhere to change the Missouri into the NJ. Maybe I can print my own decals on decal paper, we'll see I suppose.
Also, I'm having trouble finding color images of the Measure 21 paint scheme, which is what I'm thinking of going with...I know it's a navy blue on all vertical surfaces, but a reference picture would be idea.
I'm really looking forward to laying her keel sometime soon. I've bookmarked Navsource and have several references. Can't wait to start :)
