Anyone have a link to that build? Got the kit in the mail today, very large I might say.I agree alot can be done to spruce it up. This boat is the U-47,type VII B. Should still make a nice display piece. Thank you gentlemen for you're inputYes

I second EdGrune's observations.  As a retired US Navy submariner, I have yet to see any manufactured cutaway submarine that really accurately shows the interior.  That Type XXI model featured in FSM was the closest I have seen, but, as Ed mentioned, was very much reworked.

The Revell 1/125 scale Type VII B needs to also have the flood vents etched in.  These vents are vary prominent on any submarine's hull.

Is this the U-47 Type VIIb?    There is also a 1:125 scale Type VIIb which is not a cutaway sold as the U-99.  The outside is  good, but  as a minimum could stand having some of the railings sanded down to lighten their too-thick appearance.     The limber holes need to be opened,  but that shows that there is no pressure hull.  Nautilus Models made a resin replacement conning tower, deck gun, and PE set to kick it up a notch.

The interior is ficticious.    It comes nowhere close to portraying the cramped nature of these boats.   No pressure hull, no flood tanks

I believe the cutaway U-boat shown in FSM within the last year or so was a Type XXI, which had been extensively reworked

Just picked this up on Evil-bay. Just wondering where this one stands as a kit. Thanks for any input. Also ,Ibelieve there was a build of this in the FSM ,or something very close to it.
