I just answered one of my own questions and grabbed a PE set by Eduard from Free Time Hobbies (It's out of production and not anywhere on ebay so I felt blessed to find it since it was their last one) and was astounded. There must be half a pound of metal in there. The entire helipad is constructed of PE and is about 4 inches square. The set cost about 90 bucks but I see it as a bargain. By the looks of it, there will be about 100 hours of enjoyment building the kit with the PE and total kit and PE and sundries went for about $175. That is paying $!.75 an hour for immense enjoyment. Show me another way to enjoy yourself aside from stuff that's free like walking in the park etc. that you can get for less than two bucks an hour. Certainly not the movies these days and I consider just watching TV a waste of precious time. I only use that for the background.
If there is anyone who can help with interiors of Coast Guard cutters' bridges, I would be extremely grateful because the HM has gaping windows and no interior detail at all. With all that metal, I am surprised Eduard did not include anything. Thanks.
