As the title says: Dragon Premium, trumpeter, aoshima or the new revell ? In 1:700  ; plan to build with it in the camo scheme.

Voyager has a nice set for the trumpeter; any other good PE/kit combos?

thanks, cheers

I will have to say that building the Dragon premium now, I am so far less than impressed. The lower hull( if you plan on using it) on mine was extremely warped and twisted, both sides. The upper hull also had an upward bow right in the middle of it and there is no lower plate or bracing so you will have to fix it on your own. It does come with some decent pe and there is some pretty good detail to be seen. I also thought the pegs to attach the turrets to the deck were very flimsy and weak and could have been better. I would like to see the Trumpeter or Aoshima kit. I bought some brass barrels for the mainguns on eBay from a ruputable seller for about 10 bucks shipped. Using some generic pe to finish off the railings for the main deck.

Almost forgot, yes I also picked up a mask from Gator's Masks for one of the splinter schemes that she wore and all I can say about the mask is YesYesYes, will definitely be using those again.

I believe the Revell kit comes with decals for one of the splinter schemes.

Thanks for the info; I have Kenny's (Gators Mask) masks for the Fletcher, great stuff, very reasonable pricing.

I did not read good things about the Revell's decals; I dont think I would use decals for splinter schemes in any case.

I recently completed the Trumpeter version and for the most part was happy with the result.  I will say that great care needs to be taken with the fit of the upper forward superstructure.  Lots of dry fitting is the order of the day on those parts.  I chose a paint scheme worn briefly by the ship that a bit like measure 22 in the USN.  For the most part the construction of the kit eases painting of just about any scheme of camouflage.
