HI everyone - thanks for the comments.

Jake I used the heavy black thread that came with the kit- and the lighter thread for the upper lines. Got the kit for a buck at a tag sale so I had to give it a go! I have more plastic sale ships in the stash- ModelExpo.com is dumping all of their plastic inventory at very cheap prices- go check out their CLOSEOUT section:
