That kit is a piece of junk. The Dragon kit by comparison is one of the best.

what are aztec stairs?

"Aztec stairs" is a somewhat derisive term used to describe steps/stairs moulded with a solid block underneath, resembling steps in an Aztec temple (use your imagination Smile), hence the term.  They are frequently seen on 1/700 scale ship kits, especially older ones.

On this particular kit, they haven't even bothered to mould the steps in, just angled wedges representing where the stairways should be. Look at the step where the main deck and after-deck meet. You'll see a couple of wedges there from the higher deck down to the lower deck level - these should actually be (doubled) stairs. If you continue inboard at the step line, You will see two small platforms either side of the T-shaped hole with similar wedges going down to deck level. I believe these should also be stairs.

I haven't done a ship in years, and it was pretty basic at that when I did. I do have this one in the stash though, so I will be watching. Smile

This kit is so basic it doesn't even have the dreaded "Aztec stairs", it has Aztec slides instead. Indifferent

Try to start my first wip here , not so expert on building ships , i finished only 3 ships till now.

If something wrong don't exitate with some tips Embarrassed i'll appreciate it!

bought this little kit two years ago , curious about to build something from hobbyboss (when stopped my hobby for many years hobbyboss not bornrd) and especially for lower price Whistling , i hope this ship does not represents the hobbyboss standard!

During building i lost one propeller .. not so simple to replace

Then the actual progress of the disaster

fittings of rear mast complex was an hard work, pieces fits in very bad mode

horrible slution for gun turret base

I'll use this ship as school to learn more about ships building before to continue more expensive kits on my stash Angel

Please give some critics on
