1/72 Gato - I'm In Dire Need
Posted by jsimmons on Friday, May 20, 2011 2:35 PM

I'm in the process of building the 1/72 scale Gato kit for my dad (he was stationed on the Cobia and the Drum), and I'm almost done with it. I'm at the point where I'm adding the deck fittings and threading the deck stanchions (so as you can see, I'm REAL close to being done).

I was standing there admiring my work and thought, "Wow, the bow looks kind funny..."

It was then that I realized that I'd attached the bow planes backwards.  I'm sure that the process of removing the bow planes will destroy them, so I was wondering if anyone here has an extra set that they didn't use on a R/C conversion.

I know this is a stretch, but I figured if anyone would have a set, they would be a member on this web site.

I'm also going to call Revell and see if they can help.

Post on an RC forum-- you're more likely to find leftover parts there.

subcomittee would be your best bet,or maybe the sub forum on rcgroups.com

Too bad. I destroyed some parts on a Revell Lancaster a few years ago, contacted them, and got the parts for free! Good luck.

I would follow Max's hint. The kit might no longer be in production but chances are that Revell might still have replacement parts. You have nothing to loose. Good luck!
