Bet you,d thought I,d quit didn,t you . NO way ! Here,s another chapter in the saga of the ARIZONA  vs . me. To cap up the events till now .The forward superstructure is %90 done . I am just awaiting ANOTHER fret of P.E. from TOMS. geez.that makes seven frets and three mfgrs. worth now doesn,t it ? I wanted to use P.E. Deck hatches NOT the plastic ones , although they are well done . I will now give you a heads up on the hull assembly.I discovered that the four screws they would have you use DOES distort the hull and bottom. So I put a lot of reasonable pressure on the two large parts and taped them together ,taking care that the join line was a s smooth as I could possibly get it.Then I used my trusty TESTORS glue for PLASTIC and let her sit for three days. The outcome ? Well ,there are two small areas that need a small amount of filler . Not to bad considering the size of this model .The seperate deck parts then were sanded on the edges where they met the rest of the hull at the deck and edges , taped and braced and glued down . The seam across will not give you any trouble and will dissappear completely if you DO NOT use super glue. There are lots of places you can,t sand well and so I used SQUADRON white putty after I had taken a utility blade and scribed a chamfer in the sides of the seam to allow the surface to be more receptive to the filler .I was careful to NOT get it to messy .The outcome ? The deck seam aft (I haven,t done the forward deck yet ) sanded well . I used a 400/320 grit sanding stick .(the flat type larger at one end than the other) .I then finished up with an 600/800 stick.I carefully engraved the seam area with the plank seams then cleaned it off with a stiff stipple brush . I have painted it with the paint I spoke about in a previous post .GUESS WHAT ? absolutely no  seam , not even a ghost of one ! Don,t forget to put the cross seams back in the planke in these areas too . No one will ever guess the deck was seperate parts .OH, one last thing , DO use ELMERS , ALEENS or TESTORS clear parts cement and window maker on ALL the portholes and windows , This really makes it look great . there is a small house like structure on one of the levels and you should cut out the windows indicated by molded depressions. This makes this feature pop with clear windows too  .  That,s it for now . catchya later---tankerbuilder
