That is quite nice! Love the presentation as well...

I might explain the base is so wide because the oars will be displayed in the deployed position, and I wanted the base to extend to end of oars to protect them- they will be pretty fragile.  In fact, I am planning a carrying case to get it to and from contests.

Latest progress on my Heller Reale de France:

 

 

Since I shot the pix yesterday morning I have gotten the foresail furled and completed most of the foremast running rigging.  Still have to do the foremast standing rigging, and the foreyard bowline and sheet.
