I built this OOB for 'The Great War' group build. This is my first battleship in quite a while.I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was a fun build. If anybody has it in the stash,I recommend following this advice.Install and paint the secondary armament absolutely last. That shouldn't be a problem.I followed the instructions and installed it early. The guns are fragile.I snagged, bent and broke them constantly during the build process.

Also, cut off the posts they are supposed to be mounted on.They don't fit and are too fragile to goof around with.

Looks great. I would have put a wash or two on her though. Those boats look so clean. Just saying. Wink

I was extremely reluctant when it came to weathering.A bit of drybrushing to the portholes and some rust on the anchors is the extent of it.I didn't want to over do it.

As I've said before, for that particular ship, I like the clean appearance.  She would not have weathered much while serving in the Grand Fleet.  I would, haowever, invest in some PE for the ship; WEM makes a nice set for Iron Duke.

When men were men, and the battleships looked right! I would like to have seen a light wash to bring out the planking, but otherwise looks very well done. Yes

On the bench: Airfix 1/72 Wildcat; Airfix 1/72 Vampire T11; Airfix 1/72 Fouga Magister

I just dug a bunch of old 1/600 MPC and Airfix kits out of the stash.I will be getting lots of practice on floaty thingies!

I would like to know what kind of a wash to use for the decks?
