Know ye, swab, that this be the Reagan, not the Nimitz, but the colors should match the “sceam of liberty boats”. Arrgh!

That black boat is the liberty boat for only one guy on the ship. That's the Admiral's Barge and it is the only boat painted in that scheme. The rest are gray. The Captain's Gig, which is similiar to the barge, has a gray hull with white upper works.

The boot stripe is about two feet wide or so, and the life raft canisters are gray with a thin black stripe that goes latitudinally (horizontally) around the middle of the canister. It is a rubber seal.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I think the boot is a bit wider, about 6' as I recall.

I forget the exact width I came up with, but here's how I did mine.   First, I measured the dimensions of the paint guide that came with the kit.  I then scaled this up to 1/350.  For example, if the length of the model in 1/350 scale is say, 40 inches, and the lenght of the drawing on the paint guide is 10 inches, then just take all dimensions on the paint guide and multiply by four to get what you need.  So, using this same factor of four, if the width of the boot stripe is say, 1/8 inch on the guide, then it would need to be 1/2 inches wide on the model.  Again, these numbers are made up, but it still works the same.

The top of the boot stripe is horizontal and the bottom varies depending on the contour of the hull at that point.   At its widest it is about 7'-8' and it narrows down to as little as 3' vertically at the stern.
