Sounds like a good job for some of us..........

Sure, if you can work in computer modelling Big Smile

The builder's model was a 3D reference useful for building an overall visual of how the ship would look as well as to showcase to visiting brass.

Hey, Its still there. I managed to make a quick side trip into good old PSU. Its on the third floor (Navy ROTC) Its about 8 tp 10 ft long was constructed in 1916 and is the "Builders Model"  made mostly of wood. It was donated  by the "Navy Department". I  Took some photos but the glare off of the wooden and glass cabinet made for poor pictures with my old digital. Took a few photos with my  35mm Film Camera so I'll have to wait to get them developed to see if I can get rid of the glare. Can anyone clarify what a "Builder's Model" was and what it was used for? Sounds like a good job for some of us..........

Thanks for trying bondoman. I do get near State College occasionally. Maybe I'll be able to take some time and stop to see. I'll post anything I find out.

Thanks again.

Navy ROTC is in that building. I gave them a call and left a message; we'll see what they say.

No, it's not there, or no, you don't know if it's still there?

I note that it's not listed in their commemoratives...

Hi all,

Does anyone know if the model of the USS Pennsylvania still reides in the Wagner Bldg at the University Park campus of Penn State? I know that the ship's bell is there and the main guns are displayed in Boalsburg PA but the model was impressive and I was just wondering what happened to It.
