I am new to the ship world and I want to build a 1/350 DDG-55 USS Stout - I got a Trumpeter Arleigh Burke DDG-51 but I don't know where to look for difference & conversion information (if needed) I would also like a source for decals if it exist. I did see the USS John McCain DDG56. Would that kti be closer to the Sout? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The USS Stout is a Flight 1 Burke, same as the lead namesake as the class.    There should be no major differences between the Burke and the Stout.   You may find some minor differences in items such as antenna domes.  Check photo references such as www.navy.mil and www.navsource.org.

Check Hawk Graphics for a selection of high-viz and low-viz hull number decals  http://www.hawk-graphics.com/

Additional info:  Flight 2 Burkes were basically an electronics change to the Flight 1.    They were very similar in appearance to the Flight 1.    Flight 2A Burkes added helo hangar capabilitiy.   The aft superstructure was re-shaped to accomodate the hangar structure.   The height of the bridge and aft stack structure was increased to raise the height of the SPY-1 antennas to enable better line-of sight to the horizon over the now-enlarged aft superstructure
