Trumpeter 1/350 Tirpitz and King George V

I'm going into a blitz on ship kits and am trying to find details/reviews on the above two.

Are they a rebox of another manufacturer or completely different kits?

I would like to buy the wooden decks, but don't know if those on offer would fit this make - it would be a real pain to modify the wooden decks if they are not exact.

Can anybody advise?

What are the model numbers and scale of the kits you are interested in? I do not see 1:350 scale kit of these ships in their online catalogue.

A few years ago, Trumpeter imported those ship kits in 1:350 scale to US under the Minicraft brand. They are soft in details, but very cheap, say $20 per kit. It was the copy of the Tamiya kits, not reboxed.

Trumpeter has a cooperation with Japanese ship model manufacturer Pit-Road for kits in 1:700 scale. These kits are usually available under the Pit-Road label in Japan and under the Trumpeter label in the rest of the world.  Those are outstanding kits.

I am 99% sure that both kits are clones of the Tamiya kits. I saw another post on here a few days ago that Academy will be releasing a "premium edition" of the Tirpits and Bismark with PE, Brass barrels, etc. If they are like their Premium OHP Frigate and Graf Spee, they will be a true bargain for the money and affordably priced. But to get back to your original question, any AM stuff made for the Tamiya kit should work on the Trumpeter clones. but with how much wrestling or drop in I can not say. Just do not expect the same crisp detail as the original kits.
