KALININ

Just thought I would comment on this very neat "little " model . YES , I said little . It,s in the scale I don,t really like to build , 1/700 ! I know ,I know , if I don,t like the scale why did I buy it .It is the TRUMPETER kit of a UDALOY/KIROV "battle - cruiser " of the former SOVIET UNION . This is one neat ship. Even at the small scale it,s quite a nice size . It,s somewhat bigger than  one of my modern U.S. NAVY destroyers of today ! I have ordered a W.E.M.- P.E. set and it looks I will have a ball building this kit . With a NEW magnifier set and high hopes I believe it will be fun . It is so well done , Even the radars , in this size , I wonder what it would be like in 1/350 . Maybe I will find it about that one day soon . Just had to comment about it though .Oh and anyone who seen one knows it has a lot of radars and one very complex  two radar unit .It is rendered nicely in plastic , but it will be gorgeous in P.E..                    tankerbuilder

I recieved a surprise yesterday .(Ididn,t expect it to arrive so soon ) The W.E.M. photoetched set for this ship .HOLY TOLEDO !!!! Whatta bunch of gorgeous tiny parts . W.E.M. is to be commended for the detail within .Hey now that I can build her right and all that , has anyone done one and if you have what color was the SOVIET , now RUSSIAN navy colors ? Also Are your eyes in good shape ? Take care of those babies .Mine are suffering from age so I will definitely be using my whole page magnifier on this one .Ah , but it,s so well molded .Gotta start it soon . The rails on the W.E.M. set are so tiny I had a hard time seeing them and I guess it,s because they are like gossamer threads ,they are so fine . It,s all there though ! The ship is going to be really nice .I wonder though , did anyone ever do this class of ships in 1/350 ?         tabkerbuilder
