Humper,

I've seen this kit built with no modifications and look quite impressive. I don't believe this kit can be built in a weekend, but if time is not an issue you'll enjoy the build. That said, I've had mine since last Dec. and I'm about half way done. I'm correcting a bunch of Trumpeter mistakes but I don't have the patience to correct them all.

     What was your first ship?

Look at the websites Steel Navy.com, Model Shipwrights.com and Model Warships.com. Model Warships has a couple of threads that might interest you. One is about the Arizona listed in the Calling all Ship fans (CASF) section , look for 'At'em Arizona' or Unboxxing Arizona. There are also a couple of in progrees builds that  you can find in their 'Work in progress sections. Take a look around their website and I think most of your questions will be answered. appreciate the reply! first one was the tamiya 1/350  enterprise, wich turned into a complete disaster!!! 12 years later, i've repainted the flight deck 3 times, painted the hull 4......now that it's painted to me satisfaction, i get on it about a weekend a year with the PE set that the girl's got for me, big problem is, don;t matter how much tape or tweezers i have, imy hands shake too much..... so, after a day of putting on maybe 12-16 inches of rail on, i get frustrated and put it back up on the shelf, and cover it up for the next time!! not to mention, i have the full compliment of 96 trumpeter a/c to put together yet!!! i got in way over my abilities on that one, so i speculate if i never finish it b4 i retire, it'll be something nice to let my grandkids finiish(not too soon i hope!!!).

but, thru the years, i now have slightly less than moderate skills with white metal/PE/and resin, so my goal on -39 is to just build it OOB!  and see what happens....... as i said, i've many ?'s, but any guidance you could offer along the way would be greatly appreciated!!!

my only friend,Fermis, has helped me much on my aircraft/armor, even won third place this year with a Tiger I , i was sooooo happy!!! if you and anyone else could "hold my hand' thru this one, that would be awesome!!

thanks so much Leftie!!
