Great mines think alike. I would like to get the the open hull U-47 kit. Priens and Kretchmers boats flakning Topp's 72nd boat.

Agreed, and my two definitely fall under the B category. I haven't built any ship kits in years, but there are a few i would like to do, includeing the Revell 1/350 Bismark. When i got their 72nd Type VII u-boat a few months ago, i decided i would also get the 1/125 U-99 kit, partly to practice on before i moved onto the big boy. Thats when i figured i could use the Airfix kits to do the same things. Better to screw up an old kit that would cost a few £ to replace than one costing 70.

Would be nice to see the Ark redone.

They are showing their age,but these old Airfix kits sure are fun to build. They are great for practice because they are A. cheap to buy or,

B. Paid for decades ago.

The Ark has been in my stash for well over twenty years.

Nice build, i like that a lot. I remember building this and a few other Airfix ships many years ago. I still have the Belfast and Scharnhorst in the stash. I had thought of getting rid of them, but then decided they would be good to practice on before doing more advanced ship kits.

Thanks.Mediocre kit or not,it still takes a bit of work.I'd like to see a more modern kit of the Ark produced.

That looks like a nice job. I'd forgotton what a handsome vessel the Ark really was, such a shame she came to an early end. You've done a nice job on all those fiddly aircraft & the rust streaks down the side look convincing. Smart.

Steve.

I've been banging out these old Airfix kits as practice for more modern offerings.Hopefully I'll do a nice job on the 1/350 Roma I got yesterday.
