That is one thing I love about John at WEM and Loren Perry at Gold Medal Models - there's no guesswork, no, What the heck? with some of the itty-bitty-bits (I deal in 1/700!). No Xerox copies of black and white photos with vague, It kinda' goes here instructions. Clear. Precise. Accurate.
A part for everything and every part in its place. Or something like that. Not enough coffee yet this morning ...
Like I said ,a REAL instruction manual . I do like your approach JOHN . I am anxiously awaiting my H.M.S. WARSPITE sruff . Thanks . tankerbuilder
Hi John, I looked on a certain British site and couldn't find any Roma PE. Did I miss something?
Those are 5 double-sided pages....

Hi , tankerbuilder here . Hey ,when you start start high on the ship and work down . or do it deck by deck .Now the one thing is use white glue to fasten it and before you finish go over the seam with ca .If this is your first ship , just be patient , take a lot of breaks and you,ll do it .I do planes once in a while and I haven,t put p.e.on one yet but that day is near .good luck . tankerbuilder
I'm going to attempt to deck out my 1/350 Roma with a PE set.I hope I don't screw it up.
That sounds great Tanker. I love putting PE onto a ship model. It's a perfect marriage of a technology to a subject. I dislike it for airplanes and armor, but for ships it's a must.
I have a big pile of it for the CV-8, but I'm still doing battle with the hull form.
Only 5 pages? I kid lol.
Interested to hear more. Im not a huge fan of ships, but i like to hear about peoples techniques.
WOW ! Thats all I can say .I just recieved in the mail todaya parcel from the U.K. and this package was an eye opener ! I ordered the WHITE ENSIGN MODELS photo-etched set for the U.S.S.INDEPENDENCE- CV- 22 .Jeepers ! what a set of brass ! There are two BIG frets of parts and they are absolutely beautiful .They certainly are worth the money I paid for them . As we all know as model builders they do make some of the most gorgeous stuff out there in P.E. They even included in this set , the parts needed to do other versions of the ship ! They did do one thing that I am glad of and that is their five pages of instructions ! I did notice that the stack supports are indeed different . SO on that they have surpassed the kit in this regard . To look at the kit instructions you would think ALL the stack braces would be and do look they would be ALL the same , They are NOT . So If you like , Even without pictures I will keep you posted . I feel that anyone building this kit who just opened the box would appreciate the follow through . I will do it just because I like being helpful . You all watch these pages " ,I,ll be back ",OOPS ! that,s already taken isn,t it ? BYE tankerbuilder
